We are doing this research study to help validate and set standards for measuring free testosterone and other hormones in men and women. Blood samples will be used to compare the hormone levels from different study populations which include healthy young and older men, obese men and healthy menstruating women with or without excess hair growth.

Determination of accurate free testosterone levels is key in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with hormone disorders. Current methods used to measure these concentrations have been shown to be inaccurate and are not recommended for use. By validating a new method measuring free testosterone, the study may help to improve diagnosis and treatment of patients with hormone disorders.

The research from this study will enhance our understanding of free testosterone levels in healthy menstruating women, as well as help validate this new method of measuring free testosterone.

Study activities may include:
– Blood draw
– Office Visit

Male participants will receive compensation of $30 for the screening visit and $50 for visit 2, for a total of $80.

Female participants without excess hair growth will receive a compensation of up to $750 for the study (up to 25 study visits).

Female participants with excess hair growth will receive a compensation of $30 for the screening visit and $50 for visit 2, for a total of $80.
